I came across a sad scene of willful and vengeful destruction of an important community resource.
A small group of animal rights activists demonstrated in front of the KFC on Mission St., a busy road which is also Highway 1 in Santa Cruz.

On October 7, 2005, a March and Rally to End the Bus Strike by Supporting Workers was organized by the Student and Worker Coalition for Justice (SWCJ) at UC Santa Cruz. The demonstration began with a rally at the base of UCSC followed by a march to the Metro Center in downtown Santa Cruz.
Members of a whole range of unions spoke about their support for the bus drivers.
