On October 12, 2005, a March and Rally to End the Bus Strike by Supporting Workers was organized by the Student and Worker Coalition for Justice (SWCJ) at UC Santa Cruz. The demonstration began with a rally at the base of UCSC followed by a march to the Metro Center in downtown Santa Cruz. After a rally at the Metro Center, demonstrators took their message directly to the Santa Cruz Sentinel. The Sentinel is living up to their reputation by providing terrible, pro-establishment, coverage of the metro strike. It could not be anymore clear that a large section of Santa Cruz, especially students and workers at UCSC, are in solidarity with striking bus drivers.
This is number 3 of 3 posts by me covering the demonstration on October 7, 2005

The Sentinel is being called on their lies and mis-representations
The Sentinel tried to ignore hundreds of people outside their building calling them on their poor coverage of the bus strike, so people drummed on the glass and demanded acknowledgment

can it be anymore clear that students support bus drivers?
Sandino got Tom the editor to admit that the Sentinel coverage of the bus strike from the day before focusing on the handful of College Republicans was a “poor choice.”
