Watch Us Freeze

Photos from the vigil at Santa Cruz City Hall on the night of Thursday, December 3, 2004.

The temperature is near freezing, 35°F, it sure would be nice to have some “human resources” around, like say… a place to sleep! how about a blanket or two??? Nope…… Instead, the City of Santa Cruz enforces a cruel sleeping ban making it illegal to sleep at any time between the hours of 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. if you are outside or in a vehicle.

Back in January of this year, a press conference against the sleeping ban was held at Santa Cruz City Hall. Robert Norse was arrested at a City Council meeting following the January 13, 2004 press conference against the sleep ban.
